Lowe’s is a nationwide home improvement retailer with 1,700 locations in the United States.
Qualified active-duty service members, veterans, and their immediate family members can save 10% on most purchases as part of the chain’s military discount program. After being verified as eligible, you can also enjoy other benefits.
The discount and other benefits apply to active-duty service members, veterans, reservists, and their family members in the United States Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, National Guard, and Coast Guard. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (USPHS) members also qualify for the discount.
The 10% discount also applies to retired or discharged veterans unless dishonorably discharged from the military.
To receive the discount, you must enroll in the MyLowe’s Program. Lowe’s uses a trusted third-party service to verify eligibility status, which may require you to submit additional documentation, such as proof of military service. You’ll only need to do this once.
MyLowe’s Program Benefits
Service members will enjoy the following benefits when they sign up for the MyLowe’s Program.
Lowe’s has a new military benefit for 2024. The retailer recently announced that verified military members, veterans, and spouses also receive free Silver Key status in the Rewards program. Silver Key members can shop online or in-store for 10% off eligible items daily, receive free standard shipping, and earn rewards faster with MyLowe’s Rewards Silver Key status.
Eligible service members and eligible spouses must have separate MyLowe’s personal accounts to use the discount. Eligible spouses can register for an individual account here.
Your discount should apply as long as your Verify with ID.me and Lowe’s accounts are valid, unless Lowe’s changes or rescinds the discount, which it can do at any time. That does not apply to specific accounts, meaning you can enjoy discount benefits if you don’t abuse the privilege and abide by the program’s terms and conditions.
How to Sign Up for the MyLowe’s Program
Lowe’s military discount registration is simple. To receive a military discount, you must enroll in the MyLowe’s Program. To start the process, go to Lowe’s military validation page. Select “Verify with ID.me,” a third-party eligibility verification service contracted to the Department of Defense.
After you’re verified, create a personal account on Lowes.com or log in to your existing personal account and follow the on-screen instructions.
You can link your MyLowe’s account with your phone number or carry a membership card to receive your discount in-store. In either case, cashiers may ask to see photo ID, such as a valid driver’s license, state- or federal-issued identification card, DOD identification card, or passport.
If you have more than one MyLowe’s account, only one of them can be military-verified. If you have a previously military-verified account that is still active, the system won’t let you verify for a new one.

Lowe’s Military Discount Exclusions
Lowe’s military discount has no annual limit and is subject to certain program exclusions. However, it can only be applied to eligible purchases, which include most full-price products.
It can’t be used with any other offer, coupon, promotion, discount, or markdown, including:
- Lowe’s Price Promise
- Price programs such as Lowe’s 5% Off Every Day Discount, volume or special pricing programs
- Lowe’s credit discount offers, such as Lowe’s Consumer Credit Card 5% Off Every Day discount.
- Gift cards
- Previous purchases

- Services, including product installations sold separately or as part of a packaged bundle comprising both products and services and assembly

- Taxes or fees
The military discount isn’t redeemable for cash or transferable and can’t be combined with price adjustments made at a manager’s discretion.
Lowe’s military discount is for personal use only and does not apply to commercial services. It also won’t apply to market-priced commodities like lumber, cables, electrical wire, plywood, or oriented strand board.
Discounts also won’t be applied if you don’t verify your Lowe’s online account, have an incorrect phone number, or have a MyLowe’s PRO account.
Additional exclusions may apply. If you have questions, ask store personnel for clarifications on what it covers. Lowe’s reserves the right to change or cancel the program at any time or cancel a member’s enrollment if there is evidence of misuse.
Other Ways Lowe’s Helps the Military Community
Lowe’s supports the military community through its ongoing policy of hiring and providing veterans scholarships and offering preferred veteran parking at store locations.
In 2024, Lowe’s was named the 2024 Military Friendly Top 10 Brand, achieving the prestigious #1 ranking for the first time. It was also named a 2024 Military Friendly Employer for the 18th consecutive year and created long-term opportunities for military community members.
Also, for the first time in 2024, Lowe’s was named a Top 10 Military Spouse Employer for its efforts to improve and invest in the lives of military spouses.
This recognition comes alongside a 2024 Military Friendly Employer designation, an award the company has earned for 18 consecutive years.
Lowe’s also supports the military community by creating safe and affordable veterans’ housing through partnerships with national nonprofits like Building Homes for Heroes, Operation Finally Home, and Purple Heart Homes.
The retailer also provides workforce training for transitioning military service members through the Lowe’s SkillBridge program, which has partnered with the U.S. Department of Defense.
The company’s Hometowns program is a five-year, $100 million impact program that revitalizes community spaces, including food pantries, first responder facilities, affordable housing services, and community gardens. It also provides grants to renovate and revitalize community spaces that include the military community.
Lowe’s also employs 26,000+ active-duty, veteran, and military spouse associates. The Lowe’s Military Spouse Transfer Policy offers a flexible and easy path for spouses relocating for military-related reasons to make lateral moves within Lowe’s and keep growing their careers.
First Responder Discount
Some veteran service members become first responders after their service, and the good news is that you can also enjoy a Lowe’s First Responder Discount if you qualify. The terms and conditions are different from those of the Military Discount program, with discounts generally only offered in part of October, but first responders verify their identities in the same way as military members.
