Shoney’s is a popular diner chain with locations throughout the Southeast that offers an ongoing 15% military discount offer that also includes first responders such as police, firefighters and emergency medical technicians can also use the discount.
Although the chain is smaller than in previous decades, the current string of Shoney’s restaurants draws travelers alongside busy Interstates connecting Maryland, Ohio, Texas and Florida.

On November 11, participating Shoney's restaurants are offering a free morning meal to veterans and active military until 11 a.m.. Just bring proof of your service and come dine in.
How to Claim Your Military Discount at Shoney’s
Bring your valid military identification or current military ID with you to receive a 15% military discount at Shoney’s.
Service members and veterans can prove their status with several kinds of documentation, including:
- A U.S. Uniformed Forces Retired ID
- A Veterans ID Card or VA Health Care Card
- A Leave and Earnings Statement (LES)
- A DD214 discharge form.
Other forms of veteran or armed services identification may also work, such as a state-issued drivers license or ID card with a Veterans stamp or membership cards from veterans service organizations, such as Veterans of Foreign Wars or the American Legion.
